Ostheopathy
for horses

Osteopathy for horses is a strictly manual therapy. The only instruments involved are the therapist’s hands, both for diagnostic and treatment purposes. The animal is always subjected to a total examination, since one of the basic principles of this therapy is the fact that the body is considered as one complete entity.

Ostheopathie as complementary therapy

Osteopathy is not meant to replace classical animal medicine, but should rather be considered as a complementary therapy. Whereas veterinary medicine mainly aims to be curative, implying that the animal already has an illness or injury, osteopathic sessions intend to have preventive effects as well. By detecting limited movements in certain parts and structures of the horse, it aims to restore the impaired mobility in the most optimal way, preferably before any injury or illness occurs.
